we can dress it up, we can dress it down
Any way you want it done

soooo on saturday afternoon we took to cleaning our new abode and decided to listen to good ole z100 while dusting. over the course of an hour (which seemed more like an American Idol Rewind show than anything else - seriously, Elliot Yamin, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Daughtry x 2) we learned some very important life lessons:
  • if he cheats take a louisville slugger to both headlights and the next time he cheats it won't be on you (underwood)
  • in the dark, you can see shiny cars (rihanna)
  • i'm not here for your entertainment (pink)
  • be careful what you wish for cause you just might get it all (daughtry)
  • fairy tales don't always have a happy ending (fergie)
  • a thousand miles seems pretty far, but they've got planes and trains and cars (plain white t's)
  • ignorance is bliss (clarkson)
  • he tastes like you only sweeter (fall out boy)

and who says pop music can't teach you anything? we feel waaaay smarter now. don't you?

All of my insecurities
Are summed up
When you walk into my room

Its been a rough weekend. We don't want to talk about it. The good senor kind of said it all.

Instead we're going to hit you up with some much happier bullet points:

  • if you haven't heard GOOD SHOES yet. go. now. don't even bother reading the rest of this post. seriously. git.
  • monday was the 15th anniversary of the Real World. when we were in the seventh grade we were all caught up in the eric/julie drama. we can't believe that 15 years has gone by so fast, or that we were in the seventh grade 15 years ago.
  • tonight we're headed to a party for this. thankfully cartel isn't playing the party. so much more fun that brazilian girls are. as mrs. robinson pointed out, we'll be there at sparks o'clock.
  • thanks to one of our lovely reps we are headed out in ten minutes for a mani/pedi. this is work. we might have mentioned how much we love this job, but we feel we should mention it again.... we're also headed here and here on someone else's dime this week...

you put the gray skies out of my way; make the sun shine brighter than doris day

ahhh... so the move is mostly complete. all of our kitchen stuff is still in the bk, but we are firmly planted at the new digs. feel free to stop by and say hi!

the funny thing is that last night (night 3 on the other side of the river) and where do we wind up? Williamsburg! We might not have shared our hatred for Billyburg with you, but we have always found it a nightmare to get to ("G" Train stands for Good Luck) and even more a nightmare to get home from (OK "G" Train stands for Ghost Train). So we've generally declined all invites to the neighborhood of lofts and trust funds on pricipal.

BUT, A friend was in a play. And it was getting good reviews. Those folks at Gothamist even mentioned it. (scroll down). So we hopped on the M15 up first avenue. Got on the L and headed over to the BK. We were in awe. It took us 15 minutes door to door! We were in shock. We can no longer use terrible travelling as an excuse to stay away. We shed a little tear.

On the other hand. The play was quite good and too bad last night was the final performance because you missed it, didn't you? It was well acted and not to heavy handed or "arty". AND it was only 60 minutes. Added bonus.

There are other things to report, but due to the move we were out of the office yesterday and after having slogged through the 213 new emails waiting for us we have a ton of work to do. We shouldn't even be writing this now.

New York New York Chicago what a wonderful town:

So as we mentioned we're out in chi-town on a little business. We were taken last night to play Whirlyball by one of our reps. Have you heard of this nonsense? Seriously, as Lindsay would say this is either the best Highdea ever or the worst. Someone actually sat down and thought - bumper cars + basketball + lacrosse = best idea ever, let me create a highly successful business venture where i set up a place where people can drink and play my game!! only in chicago people. only in chicago.

also overheard this morning when we were purchasing our oh-so-greasy hangover breakfast to the man who had just ordered a hambusrger - "Would you like that dipped? We can make it wet for ya!!" er. thats what he said. yahtzee!

some other things we would like to share, before we hopped on the plane we were lucky enough to get taken to another Rangers playoff game (we might have mentioned this was going to happen in our last post, but we're too lazy to check)... And not only did our reps show us to our seats in their fabulous luxury box (errr... again, thats what he said) BUT we also were lucky enough to meet number 9 himself ADAM GRAVES. seriously so best. he was kind and gracious and signed not only a picture of himself for us, but a terrible towel for the bro as well. Speaking of the bro he's hunkered down because the deadine of the book he's doing with his YPR bro's is due imminently. go send him some love.

and when you're done doing that go buy Jodi and Cerina's book! It just got released this week!

It's so nice that we get to promote, but since we're too lazy to do any real writing of our own will never have to be in the strange world of self-promotion. and, yes, we are aware that all blogging is in some way shameless self-promotion.

Five Years Gone

we know we've mentioned the show before, but seriously. heroes. last night. best episode. in the HISTORY of EVER.

And we love how five years in the future strippers dance to Goldfrapp. totally brills.

in other news - thanks to a rep at a major newspaper we're headed to another rangers playoff game 4 tonight!!! did we mention how much we loved our new job?

we're off to chi-town tomorrow on bidness.

thats all we have to say.
